Adoption Policy

Adoption Application

Hidden Treasures Adoption Center welcomes applications from anyone interested in adopting.  Simply contact us to request an application.  We process all applications that are received, and make a decision based on the applicant that is most suitable for any given pet.  We do not work on a first-come-first-served basis.

Adoption Contract

All approved adopters are expected to sign an adoption contract.

Adoption Fee

All approved adopters are expected to pay an adoption fee.  The adoption fee helps defray medical and other expenses incurred on behalf of the adopted animal.  Adoption fees also constitute a large portion of the rescue’s operating revenue and therefore allows us to help other cats as well.

Animal Pickup

Shipping animals unaccompanied is unpredictable and very stressful for the animal.  Hidden Treasures will NOT ship pets under any circumstances.  Approved adopters will pick up their new family member in person and transport them directly to their new home in an appropriate pet carrier.  Hard carriers are preferable to soft carriers with zippers.  If the pet is being transported by air, adopters are expected to accompany the pet in the pressurized cabin of the aircraft.
