Meet Elsa!! (case #217-08-07-01B)
Elsa’s journey hasn’t been the smoothest—this beautiful Pyrenees mix arrived at the shelter as a stray, sporting some memorable battle scars from a run-in with a porcupine (ouch!). She came alongside a dog believed to be her sister, and while they’re a package deal from the past, Elsa is definitely the boss lady of the duo.
As a livestock guardian breed, Elsa’s got that natural protectiveness in her bones. She’s a loyal sweetheart to her people, greeting everyone with a joyful wiggle and a heartfelt lean-in for pets. Elsa’s the kind of dog who loves wide-open spaces—think big backyards, rural fields, or sprawling parks—and she’s a bit sensitive to sudden movements in tight spaces, so a calm environment is key.
While Elsa is playful and friendly with new dog friends in neutral zones like the parking lot, at the shelter she’s shown a strong, protective streak with her sister, especially when both get overly excited. She’s the dominant sibling and knows how to hold her ground, so she’d do best in a home where any new dog introductions happen slowly and carefully, with plenty of space to chill out.
Elsa isn’t a high-energy ball-chaser—she’d rather sniff out the world on a peaceful walk than bounce after a toy. She’s happiest when outside, exploring and spending quality time with her humans.

Elsa has a future appointment to be spayed. Her adopters must be willing to return her for this surgery, which is included in the adoption fee.
Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families.
