Myrtle was abandoned by her former owners when they moved away. She is an extremely friendly, affectionate, playful kitty who loves attention. She can coexist with other pets who will give her space, and would prefer a calm home without young children. She is 1-2 years old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies & distemper, and tested negative for FeLV. Unfortunately, she has tested positive for FIV. Many FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives, and we hope that this will be the case for Myrtle. She currently appears to be healthy, and is not taking any medication. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or any animals other than cats. FIV cannot be transmitted to other cats through casual contact, such as sharing food & water bowls, litter boxes, mutual grooming, etc. When cats are neutered, FIV is typically only transmitted through deep bite wounds, and cats that are compatible normally do not bite each other hard enough to draw blood. If you have any questions about FIV, please send an email, and we will be happy to answer them. Her adoption fee is $200.
