About Caspian & Ray

ADOPTED!
Ray (black & white) & Caspian (tiger) were rescued as strays, and are in a foster home in Waterbury with other cats. Caspian was rescued from the middle of the street in New Haven. Luckily, he was unharmed, but petrified! Ray was rescued from under a porch in Hartford. Both cats are curious, active, playful, friendly, very affectionate, and good with other cats after they settle in. They are bonded and need to be adopted as a pair.

Ray is an extremely friendly, affectionate kitty who loves to sit in laps and purr! He was born with superior eyelid agenesis, which is a birth defect that resulted in a large section of his upper eyelids failing to develop. His left eye was not in good condition, and was removed. The lower lid of his left eye was grafted to successfully create a fully functional upper lid for his right eye. He has been seen by Dr. Dorbandt, a veterinary ophthalmologist at Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine, and his eye is healthy and requires no further treatment. Dr. Dorbandt recommends periodic check-ups with a veterinary ophthalmologist to monitor his eye.

Caspian is very friendly, playful, and affectionate after he settles in. He is nervous initially, and it takes him a few days to acclimate to new environments. He is not comfortable around young children. Caspian will need someone with experience and patience, and would not be suitable for a first-time cat owner.

Both cats need to be fed separately from each other and from other pets, and eat canned food only. They are one year old, and have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. The adoption fee is $400 for both cats as a pair.
